MUSEUMS

The scope and prestige of Madrid’s art museums cannot be understated.
The Prado and the Thyssen museums rank among the world’s best. Other worthwhile museums are the Reina Sofía (Picasso’s Guernica is the star of that collection), the Museo Sorolla , the Museo de América which holds a small but very important collection of native South American Art and the Museo Arqueológico which presents a wonderful panoram of the historical development of Spain, from Pre-Roman to Islamic times.
